Californication isn't just your average series on Showtime. Even though they are only 4 seasons deep it's incredibly easy going, yet an immensely enjoyable show. A comedy based on a novelist who goes by Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny who is trying to make it by in L.A. but still raise his teenage daughter Becca Moody. Along with patching up his on and off relationship with Karen Van Der Beek who is the mother of their daughter.
To give you a better understanding of Hank's character he might look like your stereotypical "rock-star". He likes his alcohol, good friends and women. That is where most of his problems start from. Not being married to Karan gives him his

freedom to still venture out but still able to get kicked in the ass by Karan for his non-sense actions. Hank is a self-loathing, egotistical bastard, while he slightly spirals out of control he's almost always entertaining to watch. The show has produced some of the most insane, but hilarious moments I have ever enjoyed watching on a television show. On the contrary the show is great with a creative plot, everyday amusement, yet underneath it is a true life story that actually applies to our generation than most shoes that are all high school drama filled.
