Dream of Californication

Californication isn't just your average series on Showtime. Even though they are only 4 seasons deep it's incredibly easy going, yet an immensely enjoyable show. A comedy based on a novelist who goes by Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny who is trying to make it by in L.A. but still raise his teenage daughter Becca Moody. Along with patching up his on and off relationship with Karen Van Der Beek who is the mother of their daughter.

To give you a better understanding of Hank's character he might look like your stereotypical "rock-star". He likes his alcohol, good friends and women. That is where most of his problems start from. Not being married to Karan gives him his
freedom to still venture out but still able to get kicked in the ass by Karan for his non-sense actions. Hank is a self-loathing, egotistical bastard, while he slightly spirals out of control he's almost always entertaining to watch. The show has produced some of the most insane, but hilarious moments I have ever enjoyed watching on a television show. On the contrary the show is great with a creative plot, everyday amusement, yet underneath it is a true life story that actually applies to our generation than most shoes that are all high school drama filled.

This video can be found on Showtime online,
here. Californication can be viewed on television, online, DVD and even smartphones. Along with Facebook and Twitter like the rest of this world. So jump on the band wagon and watch the first episode on Netflix, already on your Instant Que!

Spring to Vermont

Vermont Life is simple yet a pristine magazine. The simplicity makes it easy to read and locate the features within. At the same time the radiant pictures, award winning journalism makes Vermont Life a great inside source. Allowing the locals along with outsiders get a closer look on Vermont's hidden places and its essential quality.
Founded in 1946, which is deemed to be one of American's premier regional magazine. Since 1990 it has won over 95 national and international magazine awards. Along with the breath taking pictures like the one on the cover for this Spring edition 2011 of the East Montpelier Barn taken by Kurt Budliger. They also provide us with detailed stories that all are wrapped up in the Vermont lifestyle. From the troubles the local butchers are dealing with to the most highly recommended restaurants on Church Street. They are all dressed up with a little bit of everything, some culture, arts, music, outdoor recreation and food.
All good things in life!

Advertisement is a big deal for Vermont Life. Not only is it helping the magazine make money but it also informs the readers. Giving them an idea to visit Vermont or to get a taste of Vermont's pure, natural and delicious maple sugar. The options are endless with having more than 100 ads in just one issue. The organization of this magazine is incredible. Easy to find the exotic features to the unfamiliar departments. Like these ads right below.
Only 44 years later the magazine altered and moved to the online world. Reveling the same information found in a hard copy with a few extras but more convenient for the 21st century. Even though it's very easy to get a hold of one go on the website, go to the contents and press the subscribe button and it brings you to the form. Along with that the online website gives you a few more extras like videos, photo slide shows and more. For instance this one clip of The Peking Acrobats who perform at the Paramount Theatre, Rutland in March. You can also go to http://www.vermont.gov for more web extras.

Not only are they found online and on many shelves in the stores throughout Vermont, but also on Twitter and Facebook. Making it again simple to follow and get involved. Speaking of involvement Vermont Life makes is easier to get in contact with the editor, how to subscribe, advertising, costumer service and even to suggesting a product they could possibly advertise.
With such great qualities and traits produced by one magazine itself, makes it hard to compete with. So grab the latest issue now, before you miss out on something new in Vermont!

Prologue

My name is Taylor Grant and I'm from Waterboro, Maine. It's small town about 45 minutes from Portland. A fun media experience I had over vacation was watching the film called "The Town", which takes place in Boston, Massachusetts.

The main characters rob a Cambridge bank and take the bank manager hostage. The FBI gets involved and they go through some epic encounters with them. I wont go into that much detail though. Through out the movie, it showed some great visuals of how they use their surroundings to help them successfully rob the bank. One thing I like about the 21st century media is how easy it is to communicate with one another. The options are endless with technology. From texting to facebook, instead of just emailing. It's also something I don't like. Since it's so easy to contact someone, everyone is either on their phones or on their computers. With all this new technology it seems to create more laziness. You don't see kids going outside playing as much as they use to, or just hanging out without one person on their phone. I'm currently undeclared, so I'm no sure where my profession is going. I just know that I like to be involved and always learning. So all I can really do for now is soak up everything that comes at me.
